Holiday Festivities Meeting

In the final meeting of the year we announced that after months of working together on the charter, the FDA/CDRH officially recognized the Pathology Innovation Collaborative Community (PIcc, also known as the Alliance). MDIC officially serves as the Convener for the PIcc. View the evolution of the charter here.

A new workgroup was proposed in the meeting for Trainees, including graduate, post-graduate and residents, to address the underdevelopment of formal education in regulatory science in pathology.

We were honored to feature a talk by Robin Smith, founder & CEO of ORIG3N. Robin is an executive, visionary and strategist with a track record of building high-energy organizations. He has over 20 years of experience in the diagnostics and laboratory sector. In August, a laboratory failure in ORIG3N's laboratory in Boston led to "bad press". Robin spoke about this critical topic - and the story on how his team and company overcame these challenges and received clearance to go back live.
