The DPA, MDIC and FDA took the initiative to have an alliance meeting. We had a very productive successful first meeting on July 18, held at the FDA. Over 60 representatives of various groups/stakeholders were in attendance. The Medical Device Innovation Consortium (MDIC), the Digital Pathology Association (DPA), and the FDA provided presentations and group discussions took place. See for presentations the attached slides and for more info:

The alliance is discussing the needs of the field of Digital Pathology with the goal for timely access to innovation and drive adoption to help accelerating precision medicine. At the meeting of July 18 the Alliance agreed to follow a collective approach in the form of innovative projects to inform scientific and regulatory questions critical to the field’s growth. We also agreed to further discuss and align on project proposals during the following meeting of the Alliance on Oct. 5. The promising projects will be further outlined thereafter for presentation to MDIC in November.

The next Alliance meeting will happen on October 5th 2019 in Orlando (FL) from 12-4pm, just prior to Pathology Visions. Click here for more info.
